Opportunity

"Trust your crazy ideas.” — Dan Zadra, Communications Consultant

One of the defining characteristics of a successful entrepreneur — some would say a successful person — is the ability to look at a problem and see an opportunity. In a period of crisis, this approach is critical. The world needs new ways of looking at issues, innovations great and small, and enthusiastic individuals ready to pitch in. Challenge Your World will be providing promising ideas with funding and professional advice from top minds in business and sustainable development.

Cultivate

A supportive environment for sustainable business ideas

We all want a better world. At Challenge Your World, we believe that new businesses can play a major role in changing society for the better — by introducing innovations, improving existing products, and delivering amazing new services. Just as seedlings are vulnerable and can quickly wither in the wrong conditions, new ideas and businesses need a supportive environment in order to grow and thrive. Challenge Your World provides this nurturing environment: a space where ideamakers and emerging entrepreneurs can get support, resources, and feedback. If you’d like to be part of the change, join us!

Community

Ideamakers and emerging entrepreneurs seeking to create sustainable startups

Have you ever had a chance conversation with a friend or stranger that changed your perspective on something in a way you never imagined? Do you ever reflect on all the different ways your communities — school, work, hobbies, friends, family — affect and inform you? Imagine being part of a community full of people dedicated to creating the next generation of companies, people helping each other get their business ideas off the ground, with the chance of gaining financial, intellectual, and emotional support and access to broader networks. That’s what we're creating at Challenge Your World — an online innovation centre!

Triple Bottom Line

Balancing of social, environmental, and economic concerns

Coined by John Elkington (author, consultant, and sustainability expert) in 1994, "triple bottom line" refers to the balancing of social, environmental, and economic concerns within a project, business, government, country, or any other organization. While there has been some debate over the overall effect of using the concept to evaluate sustainability, we think it's worth thinking about if you are starting a new business and want to evaluate your overall impact and contribution, as well as your gains, expenditures and losses — be they financial, ecological, or cultural.
